The More You Know: Edition 5
I created this informal newsletter for my business partners and am now bringing it to curious minds in my network. The More You Know is a curated collection of articles that I 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗹𝘆 find interesting and insightful during my daily browsing, either as a professional or as a person.
You'll regularly see topics like AI, consumer trends, heath & science, with a perspective from me as an "informed non-expert" 🙂
Hope this series sparks an unexpected "ah-ha" moment for you.
➡️ 𝗪𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴
A new study found that weather tweaks brain functions like memory and engagement, meaning brands should adjust marketing strategy accordingly. This checks out for me, personally - I feel more adventurous/open to new things when it's 75 and sunny, versus more apt to cuddle up and seek comfort in the middle of winter. This is intuitive, but the first time I've seen actual brain data to back it up (credit to Neuro-Insight). Link
➡️ 𝗔𝗜 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗙𝗔 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗺𝘀
I'm not surprised to hear this after having great success using AI tools to model different scenarios for my personal finances. I don't think it takes the place of a human financial advisor relationship, but it quickly gave me a starting point and helped me truly understand and ask smart questions during our meeting. (Yes, the AI projections were accurate and actually conservative!) Link
➡️ 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆: 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗿𝗵𝗲𝘂𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘀
Share with your family and friends! This is important news. Multiple people I love have rheumatoid arthritis and it is absolutely worth preventing, if possible. If you are genetically predisposed to RA, consider early testing! Link
🎬 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜'𝗺 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴: Super Man: The Christopher Reeve Story
This wowed me - what a guy. Today is actually his birthday. His grit is inspiring and opens your eyes to the experiences of people with spinal cord injuries. I didn't realize that he also directed and starred in movies post injury! Amazing example of "you are not your disability".
